Elk Lakes Provincial Park, East Kootenays, BC
About 75km north on the rough Elk River Forest Service Road (now part of the Trans Canada Trail) you reach the Elk Lakes Provincial Park. We usually park our camper 5km outside the park on a quiet meadow along a cold mountain stream. In the morning, I ferry Anne over to the trailhead and she heads off for a day hike. On occasion I accompany her for a few kilometers and am rewarded by this stunning view.
